Georgetown,
Colorado
(May 24 & 25, 2008) – The town of Georgetown welcomes visitors to
their National Historic Landmark District – Home of the Georgetown
Loop Historic Railroad and Mining Park. The National Historic
Landmark designation is the highest such recognition accorded by the
Federal Government to historic properties. These special places
embody the actual sites where significant historical events
occurred, or where prominent Americans worked or lived, and
represent the ideas that shaped the nation. Fewer than 2,500
historic places carry the title of National Historic Landmark.
Located just 45 minutes west of Denver, the “Silver Queen of the
Rockies” beckons you to discover Colorado’s railroad and mining
history at the 4th Annual Historic Georgetown Railroad &
Mining Days.
